Preparing for Your Appointment
A few simple steps before your appointment can make the procedure quicker and more comfortable.
Use Olive Oil Drops
The single most helpful thing you can do is soften your ear wax before your appointment. We recommend using olive oil drops for 3-5 days beforehand. This makes the wax much easier to remove.
How to Use Olive Oil Drops
Warm the oil slightly to body temperature (not hot)
Lie on your side with the affected ear facing up
Put 2-3 drops into your ear canal
Stay lying down for 5-10 minutes
Wipe away any excess oil when you sit up
Repeat 2-3 times daily for 3-5 days before your appointment
What If I Don't Have Time to Prepare?
Don't worry if you can't use olive oil beforehand. We can still remove the wax—it just might take a little longer. Microsuction is effective on all types of wax, from soft to rock-hard.

After Your Appointment
Your ears might feel a bit sensitive immediately after the procedure—this is normal and should settle within a few hours. You might also notice your hearing seems very sharp or loud. This is because you've been hearing through wax for a while, and your brain needs a little time to adjust.
