Earwax Removal Devon can visit eligible care homes where a resident would find it more practical to be seen on site. Each person is considered individually. The visit begins with an ear examination; if wax removal is appropriate, the method is selected from the individual presentation and assessment rather than promised in advance.
Carer available
Visits are arranged with a care-home carer available to help with access and resident support.
No minimum group size
A visit can be discussed for one resident or more. There is no minimum group size for an enquiry.
Address checked first
The same 20-mile home-visit boundary applies, with address and postcode confirmation before a visit is arranged.

How a care-home booking is arranged
Call or use the booking route to discuss the resident’s address, postcode and the practical access arrangements. The same home-visit boundary and fees apply to care-home visits.
Please arrange for a care-home carer to be available during the visit. This helps with access and supports the resident throughout the appointment.
If ear drops have been advised for a planned wax-removal appointment, you can ask about suitable preparation when booking. Do not put anything into the ear canal unless it is appropriate for the individual.
Assessment comes first
What happens at the appointment
The practitioner examines the ears first. If wax removal is suitable, microsuction or irrigation may be considered according to the individual presentation. If there is no removable wax, the £30 assessment-only policy applies. Where safety or suitability is uncertain, no routine procedure is promised.

Confirm the address, postcode, access arrangements and a carer’s availability.
Assess each resident
An individual ear examination informs whether wax removal is appropriate.
Agree the next step
If suitable, treatment is considered; otherwise, the practitioner explains the appropriate next step.
When a routine booking is not the right route
Sudden hearing loss, significant ear pain, discharge, acute dizziness or another urgent concern should be assessed through the appropriate urgent medical route rather than treated as a routine earwax booking.
